Whats so special about a caspian slide? What improvements can it do to a gun? I noticed that guns with a caspian slide seems more expensive.

IIRC it has something to do with it being forged and of excellent metallurgy. Come to think of it a lot of slides are built that way. Guess this is where quality control and a good reputation comes in. The name just sticks to you.:)

i like Caspian slides because they crack less than STI (more on open guns) plus caspian has a great warranty (huwag mo lang i lower your ejection port and alisin yung logo;f )

Actually they are casts (I don't think they make forged slides anymore), but they are made of good quality steel (supplied by Ruger?). The hardening process(heat treatment?) they use is very good, its hard but not brittle. They're comparable to Colt's in quality.

New Caspian frames are investment casts, they used to be made of barstock but they stopped doing that. The slides, however are still machined from Barstock which is forged. A lot of manufacturers still manufacture forged slides in addition to forged frames, Springfield, RRA,Les Baer, Norinco, SV, STI. I did this research when I got my Limcat STI which had a Caspian Slide and I wanted to know more about it:)

Oh, okay, so it was the frames that are once forged but now are cast. Sorry, my bad. ;J

I think some local platers can approximate the looks out of an ordinary slide. ;)
