i am planning a trip to Cherokee north carolina near asheville. are the laws there different than those of north carolina? i hold an alabama concealed pistol permit which has a reciprocity agreement with NC, and i have studied the NC laws. just cant find much info on cherokee and whether things there are different or not. thank you in advance.

The last time I checked, the Eastern Band mirrored the State of North Carolina law. If you can legally conceal within the state, you could carry on the reservation unless individual properties (like the casino) disallowed it.

I would contact the tribal authorities directly and ask them just to be sure nothing has changed. I would make it very clear to them that you have a legal permit to carry elsewhere in the state. The number is (828) 497-7000.

Per the Cherokee PD, they follow all NC laws regarding concealed carry.
