That's the weirdest case of metal fatigue/failure I've ever seen. I'm not calling the guy a liar, but if I saw the picture without any context, I would have bet that the slide was cut with some kind of high-speed tool. The break looks perfectly uniform and perpendicular to the axis of the bore.

I would like to see what the Rc is on that slide. Grind the sections at the break flat and test the hardness across the break. Probably harder than it should be. I wonder if they are case hardened or through hardened.

Poor metalurgy, just like the original Beretta M9's that were having catistrophic slide failures.

No doubt a Muslim on Muslim crime. :whistling:

Thankfully, the ATF is holding out on these getting to the US.
The conspiracy is that infidels here would have totally worthless guns if they used these Caracals.

I dunno, I'm gonna hold out for more of the story. I have to say, the English from a Pakistan gun forum is pretty darn good.

Consistent with the shooter dropping the gun in the dirt when it blew up on him.:whistling:

Knowing the truth about what happened is never going to happen. Might as well get used to Caracal becoming a presence here in the USA. The backers of the weapon have pockets deeper than Warren Buffet and the design of the gun is superb. They'll get the manufactering bugs worked out or they'll Jihad the plant workers. It's that simple.

  14. I don't see it being an ammo problem. I handload and pistol powders for the 9mm are fast burning. I don't think their is enough case capacity in a 9mm to cause a pressure spike that severe.

I am leaning to a metallurgy issue also. Probably over hardening.

I would think the barrel would be in worse shape if the ammo failure was the cause.

It pulled a Beretta, not a Glock. Barrel and frame are fine, no signs of overpressure or case failure. The front and rear of the slide just decided it was time for a breakup, and went their separate ways.
