My 2001 Nissan Xterra with 130k miles was running fine and I was at a stop light when the engine just died. It turned over but wouldnt start. Note: about an hour earlier before it died, the car didnt start on the first crank but then started on the 2nd. It had to be towed to a shop. I had the battery tested at autozone and it is perfectly fine. The fluids are fine. It drove 400 miles from San Francisco to LA to Vegas fine 30 days ago. (about 700 miles total) Do you guys think its a dead alternator? Or timing belt? If its the timing belt...whats the ball park price to have it fixed on a V6?
