Ugh, Vdare articles are always so poorly written - more of a disjointed stream of consciousness than a logical series of paragraphs.

I give Rubio credit for going on both Fox News and Rush on the same day to sell his message. I didn't see/hear any Republican with a better plan on immigration reform out selling his message.

How well did shameless pandering work for McCain?

I remember sitting in a cigar shop in Miami talking to some guys working on his campaign before he was elected.

We all felt like he was the real deal, a true conservative, assuming his Cuban heritage and conservative talk meant he really "gets" what the US is meant to be.

I'm 49 years old and am starting to think I will never learn. I contributed to this guy's campaign, he had me completely conned.

Please remove Rubio from your minds, one RINO loses the POTUS election and here we're already starting to groom another.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Hardcore, TRUE fiscal conservatives won't vote for him

    Libertarians won't vote for him

Liberals aren't going to vote for a watered down version of the real deal.

Find another Libertarian leaning or at least FISCALLY conservative candidate or start carving President Biden or President Clinton on the oval office door.

Rubio is not a RINO. He is a moderate Republican.

Remember the Republican party is a hard left organization. The mask is pretty much off now.

  8. I said this in 1980 and unfortunately it has proven true: Ronald Reagan is the most conservative electable politician in my lifetime.

Which of course begs the question: Who is the most conservative electable politician today?

I strongly suspect it will be someone less than perfect to many on this board.

There's no doubt whose side you guys are on.

As soon as a new viable republican candidate appears, you immediately find fault with him.

Joseph Stalin had a name for you guys, and I'm sure Obama refers to you by the same name.

You know, I've tried, and I'm sure others have tried to get you to understand that voting for a watered down liberal isn't the right direction that this endangered country needs to go. Rubio supports the same core problems that are destroying us. All the big spending, authoritarianism, welfare, warfare, and the same BS we hear every time.

You think just because he calls himself Republican, a magic force will just come and heal all this country's afflictions and happy days will arrive. You try to make a connection between looking for a principled and fiscally conservative candidate and Stalin and Communism? You'd vote for Socialist to avoid voting for a Communist, when you could just pick a better candidate.

Your view of politics is equivilant to Sesame Street.

Explain to me how withholding your vote from republicans, or continuing to support an unelectable party and it's fringe candidate, will ever change things in Washington DC?

Do you think the republican party misses you?...

The only way to effect any change in the republican party is to get involved and demand a more conservative candidate.

    I'm working to do that.

What are you doing to return the republican party to a more conservative position?

We are making progress. Romney was better than McCain, and Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are better than both of them.

But for some reason you continue to find fault with any republican candidate. There's an obvious reason for that, isn't there?

Guys like you handed Obama the last election on a silver platter.
I voted for Romney. At least I tried to change things.

    What did you do?...:dunno:

Once again you fail to understand what change is or you are just lying to yourself.

You voted for Romney, a healthcare socializing gun grabber to change the course Obama has put us on? HELLO!!?? Are you that delusional?

I have no illusions that a Libertarian party candidate will win POTUS
one day, that kind of thinking is just as dillusional as yours. A Libertarian has to infiltrate the GOP. Because supposedly, we can relate to Republicans better than Liberals. But apparently, The Constitution and the founding principles of this country are now "fringe issues". Seems now all the GOP cares about is conquering the Middle East, expanding the government "safety net" programs and making morality the law. Damn small government and fiscal conservatism.

You will never understand the message of Liberty becuase you support big government. You expect it to mold society to your liking. You expect it to fight wars globally, and spend trillions maintaining an empire. You expect it to maintain these programs that increase in obligations yearly. AND somehow, you expect it to stay small? Your political ideology is logically and fundamentally flawed. It is a physical impossibility.

You want to blame me for Obama's re-election? Fine. Then I blame you for Gun Control. People like you who have praised and empowered the government to grow beyond our control are the problem. You support the Patriot Act and NDAA that dissolves our 4th Amendment, now you are surprised that the same government is coming after the 2nd?

Until you are willing to admit that your godly Conservatives are destroying the country as fast as the Liberals, you aren't trying to change anything other than the name of our oligarchs. Get over yourself.

But what have you done to try and change things?
    Who did you vote for?

Rubio said gun registration is OK by him.

Rubio supports amnesty for illegal immigrants.

What is this viability of which you speak?

ETA: Name calling does not advance the conversation.

There's no perfect candidate, but even the worst republican is better than any democrat.
