Whatever it is, it doesn't look like its made for firing ammo.
The slide doesn't look like it's move at all, but there is something on the rear that looks like it could be loaded with a pyrotechnic. I have seen some prop guns that pop and shoot flame but the slide never moves.
That may be the front end of a Isralie round the corner rifle.
