Al'right everyone, I'm new to the forum and a proud owner of a Glock 29sf. I have finally convinced my wife to get a pistol but she has chosen a :crying:XDM 45 3.8". She loves the size of my 29 but likes the look of the XDM. I'm ok with it as long as she is armed when I'm away and now we won't have to share or rent a gun for her to shoot when we go to the range. My question though is if I can switch out the barrels of my 29 with the 30's 45? Don't get me wrong I LOVE 10MM and will keep it as my carry but it would be nice to be able to share ammo if needed. What all would i need to ****ch to make it work? One of my favorite things about my glock is how easy it is to take apart and put back together so if it requires changing out extractor. Anyone try?

No a G30 barrel will not work in a G29. The breech face of the G29 slide is too narrow to work with .45ACP.

Thanks I was afraid of that. Well in that case I guess my next pistol will be a 30 or probably a 21sf. That way I can always get another 10 mm barrel and be able to convert.

I just lucked out getting a G27 before I had any idea
about all this barrel swapping and conversion barrel stuff.
    Now I can shoot 40/357/9mm.

I love my Glock - LOL!

You would have really lucked out if you had gotten the G29 instead. :tongueout: Then you could have fired 10mm, 40, 357, 9mm, & 9x25 Dillon! lol :whistling: LOL just messing around. The G27 is a nice pistol & perfect for carry (as you know). :D
