Brown signed anti gun bills a couple of weeks ago, but none of them included bullet/projectiles. Did he sign other bills since then restricting components?
Currently it only affects loaded ammo, but the liberal turds in Sac will get around to adding powder & primers when they figure out people a make their own ammo. This crap legislation will be coming to a liberal state near you sooner than later.
It only took the 50yrs to figure out ammo has no 2A protection. They can tax it, ban it's sale, etc. Seattle has a 5c per round tax ammo, but once the tax is in place, like cig taxes, they can raise it as high as they like. The idea is to make it sooo hard to be a gun owner you just don't bother. Yet another reason to become a reloader IMO, but they will eventually address that too.
I'm hoping they're only primarily focused on the characters that are too stupid/lazy to reload, and want to make quick purchases and terrorize the defenseless sheep!
We both know the new law is NOT about crime but like the DOJ approved list, it's about making gun ownership in Kalif soooo diff that you just don't. Really, the libs are sooo stupid as to think that this has any affect on crime. If I can get an illegal gun to guard my illegal dope, who really thinks I can't get illegal ammo?
This is also a tax/revenue issue. Now that there is a ban on internet purchases, they get more sales tax + they can now put a per round ammo tax in place & you will have no choice but to pay it, if you comply with the law. Buying out of state & brining it across will also be a crime. Anyone can see where this is going. It's about control & money, like most things I govt. How else do the govt employee parasites get their retirement & free healthcare? I am so glad I will not retire here. SCREW THE NICE WEATHER!!!!
I am glad I am a long time reloader. This is pretty much extortion by the govt, making you jump thru stupid hoops the criminal element has no intention of doing. I will not buy a single round of ammo here. I will not get the stupid background check nor ID card that goes with it. I have enough stuff to keep me shooting for the next 5-10yrs, depends on my round count, but plenty to get me by until I move out of state.
So you get to decide whether they're "parasites" or not. And that 90% bull**** is just that. Then you say, "I would certainly do the same thing in their place." Sometimes old people are like children and should be seen and not heard.

No okie, its not bs. LEO out here, fire too, can get 90% pensions. Spike it right, they can make more retired than when they were working. I personnly know two such retired LEO, so dont comment on what u dont know, only makes u look stupid
Money, Well who would not take any amount of ridiculous pay offered them? If my boss came to me & doubled my salary, i certainly wouldnt give it back, you wouldnt either. Parasites, my opinion based on working for a govt agency for awhile. My opinion, dont like, i dont care much. Doesnt turn fact to fiction. https://www.calpers.ca.gov/page/act...ity-retirement/retirement-estimate-calculator
I get half of my base pay that i received when I retired with 25.5 years. Since some idiot in washington thought it would be a good idea for Msgt could only stay for 25 years instead of 26.
Benefits are slowly being chipped away. In a lot of cases the commissary and BX it’s cheaper to buy off base.
The majority of my holidays was spent somewhere other than being with family or friends.
Working 12 hours a day 7 days a week loading bombs etc. on the F-105 aircraft in southeast asia. Then a couple of years later got on the AC-130 gunship. My avatar is me just before my 135 but not last combat mission.I was awarded the DFC, MSM, 13 air medals among others. Was involved in 9 Vietnam compains.
So yes I do think i deserve every bit of my half base pay. And I still would do it all over again if I could.
Amd i thank you for your service, but like i said, depends. A cook or truck driver in the army makes far more than one out, gets a full pension & medical. Not quite the same as a trigger puller or someone injured while active duty. A 50% pension is manageablpe, even when living longer than what you paid in, but 90% pension, pure bs, bankrupting dozens of municpalities in The next 5-10yrs as the boomers retire. We all pay for such largess. When the private sector is tapped out, the govt sector will collapse. You already see this in the EU.
All I know is that I welcome you guys to Texas. Leave the laws you think are "reasonable" at the border when you enter, we have enough already, that's how it gets started and how you are now screwed.
There are at least 2 forums that I know of that have open sections/threads devoted primarily to the legal interpretation of the bill(s) in question:
Calguns.net
Thefiringline
Check there to see how most peeps are interpreting the wording in question
Fred read your own quote.
Section B clearly states ammunition is defined as any "bullet" , "cartridge" or "projectile". And is not limited to loaded ammunition.
Currently it is only ammo, read the entire statute. It does not say powder or primers. Why I said it is likely to be ammened to include reloading components, but now, it is a grey area.
The entire ammo ban is mostly just ****ing with law abiding gun owners. It will alao be yet another tax slush fund to pay for a failing states uncontrolled spending, the ammo tax will come, i suspect shortly after the ban goes into affect. Yes time to move.
When you have democrats running the state and local government. Abundance of Illegal aliens on welfare. Abundance of social programs. Just for reassurance of being reelected. Anyone with half a brain should realize what democrats are doing there and the rest of the country. California and New York are two states among others that I would unless I had to set foot in again.
Same with any ban. You know there would be a lot less people die if we just banned killing people....oh wait, people intent on breaking the law don't care how many they break.
I tried to post a photo of some gang bangers with their guns, but I can't seem to get it to open on my computer. Perhaps the file is too large. I'll work at it some.
Democrat politicians could care less if it well or well not save any lives, It’s all about controlling the people and making the people feel good, It's just politicking for votes to keep them in office. As long as the people believe the government owns them something, they well keeping putting these liberal idiots in office.
We were watching th RNC last night on DirecTv chan 360 Fox News. I wanted to see what the local stations were covering of the same. As I figured, talking heads sitting around criticizing everything taking place in the background. The media is responsible for promoting all this racial hatred in this country. I wouldn't be one bit surprised that the result is a racial war. Of course the conservatives will get blamed!

There is also an overwhelming fear in Liberal politicians of gun owners. Why, because they want a 180deg diff agenda in life & fear if they pass such laws, the armed conservative will fight back. Kinda sounds like 1776 all over again, but that is my view. Open borders, cradle to grave govt care/funding/largess, all on the backs of the working class. Study history, it's rife with such examples & our country is headed in that historical repeat. So once again, go vote Rep this year. It won't help Kalif, but it might save 46 or 47 states.
Obviously, I'm not familiar with CA law, but know that what happens there is generally about six years from making it to the Midwest. So far, Iowa is pretty gun friendly, but I'm not so ignorant as to know that it will/can eventually change.
Till then, I'll take the snow - gets rid of the mosquito anyway. In retirement, I'll probably just hop across the border to SD - same attitude as Iowa and no State income tax.
I keep reading these posts about the Marxists in MA and CA and I think this: States that are still free need to court ammo manufacturers and gun makers. This has been talking place and it needs to continue to. If the laws in Communist states become so onerous it is to costly to do business then ammo and gun companies should pull out.
Things like the Magpul move do occur but not due to the cost of business in bankrupt States because of fiscal irresponsibility. In any case that won't matter until we quit bailing out everyone that does stupid things with money.
I don't see how a group of people can become so "on board" with say bailing out GM because they were stupid with money but not a single one of the people could tell GM they cannot make their car payment because they blew the money on lottery tickets and avoid repossession.
For those who don't like California's laws, vote or move. For those who think government employees are milking the system and getting overpaid on pensions or otherwise, why didn't you apply to work in those positions?
I don't really feel bad for California residents, I chose not to live there. And I really don't see why passing a background check is an issue but, if it is, I'm happy you can't buy ammunition or projectiles.
Here is an example of what it's like to purchase guns in Calif. I recently went to a local store to purchase a Bersa Firestorm .380 with an integrated safety lock.
Edited correction: This model did not have the integrated safety lock. The "Thunder" model did. My error.
Calif. requires purchasers of handguns to pass a handgun safety test and demonstrate the safe handling of the gun being bought. I have a Handgun Safety Certificate, but inquired about why I was ever required to take the test in the first place. I am a retired LEO, and served 4 years in the marines. Calif. Penal Code 31700 lists the following exemptions::
Pursuant to Penal Code section 31700, there are exemptions from the FSC requirement including, but not limited to:
• Federal Firearms License Collectors with a Certificate of Eligibility
(for Curio and Relic transactions only);
• Active, active reserve, or honorably retired military;
• Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit holders; and
• Persons who have completed Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) (Pen. Code, § 832) firearms training.
The clerk said that completion of the 832 training has to have been within the ten years, and retired military doesn't include four years in the military.
Additionally, I had to either bring a recently purchased (within the last couple of days) handgun lock, even though I have a gun safe. He said gun safes only are for long guns, not handguns.
He said their store has to go by DOJ's interpretations of the Penal Code, not what is actually defined in the Penal Code. They don't want to get written up for any violations.
So, this is what it's like to deal with gun regulations in Calif. Trust me, these progressive liberal gun haters eventually move to other states, and will bring their ideas for the rest of you to appreciate!
Steve
