I was thinking of getting a bicycle for riding to work and on trails. I was looking at a marin for $400 or so. I know its not going to be a top end bike but was wondering if that would be a good choice. I think it was a "rockhopper".

I went with a marin bobcat trail in red. Its pretty nice with disc brakes and all under $400

For road and paved trails, the TREK 7100 series are the best. I paid $299 for mine 2004. Once you ride this baby youll never ride any other bike.
