    Good evening everybody,

I'm looking for advice on a 200-230 gn bullet for my 30sf. I have a lonewolf barrel for "lead" use. So before I order 500 heads from Missouri bullet co. Doese anyone have any advice about feeding issues? What works best, round nose, truncated cone, or semi wadcutter?

    Thanks to all, Ringo!

My G30 wouldn't feed SWC at all, even after I sent my LW barrel back to have it rechambered. Bought a 225 grain RN mould just to feed the 30.

There have been some folks post on here that they've had no problem with SWC's but they seem to be in the minority.

LIke Jack, definitely NOT SWC. The RN or TC work fine.

Missouri bullet company makes great bullets. I have to agree with Jack and Fred; my Glocks in .45 and .40 both choke on SWC's occasionally. It's nothing to do with the company. The bullet design from any manufacturer doesn't run well in MY Glock's.

RN feeds best, TC next, SWC will depend on your feed ramp or even the clip.

My 1911 feeds SWC from stainless mags without a hitch; but has many failure to feeds with the stock blued ones. I suspect the angle of the feed lips, but haven't chased it down.

Just received my Lone Wolf to shoot Missouri 200 GR LRNFP out of my G21. Once the ice clears I'll give an update on how it went. My M&P .45 loves those bullets, but the old Combat Commander 1911 will not feed them most of the time. The 1911 is a cranky old gun and very particular about what it likes.

I only reload 230 grain round nose, because I have never had any feeding issues with them in all my 45's. Can't say the same about the other configurations. I won't be buying any truncated ever again!

Agree. I've messed with one box of 185gr swc and not worth the effort. My 230 gr round noses, whether they be Lead, Plated, Full Metal Jacket, work well in all my guns. I'm just happy with them so I will continue to reload them to my hearts content.

Now, I'm tempted to try 200gr Lead Round Nose, but they are never in stock so I haven't.

Was watching Lock and Load last Friday with Gunny Ermey (they had a Lock and Load marathon). Gotta love Gunny. Gunny said "clip". If it's good enough for Gunny, it'll have to be good enough for you "sofa shooters".

    I'm in good company.

Now I wouldn't say the Gunny is out reading dictionaries; but he may have come upon this:
<TABLE id=wn><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top>Noun</TD><TD vAlign=top>1.</TD><TD>clip - a metal frame or container holding cartridges; can be inserted into an automatic gun cartridge clip, cartridge holder, magazine
gun - a weapon that discharges a missile at high velocity (especially from a metal tube or barrel)

pincurl clip - a variety of clip for holding pin curls

supply chamber - a mechanical device for holding something and supplying it as needed
    </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
