Looking not to replicate bb's loading, but to cook up a similarly smokin' load for my new G32. Haven't loaded much in the way of 357 sig though. Mostly looking to work up a solid practice load, cause giving all my money to bb isn't exactly my idea of fun. All I've got on hand is some HS-6 I've used for 9mm. Using this smart phone is a lot harder than I thought it'd be. Got a pile of starline brass and hornady's 125gr action pistol bullets en route, as a starting point. Anybody care to share their favorites as far as powder bullet combos go.

    Links are welcome!

HS6 is a good choice but if you want max effort loads, think slower powders. AA#9 is pretty much the darling of the 357sig handloaders. It works fine if you want to run the top end. It's easy to get 1400fps w/ AA#7, BlueDot or Longshot w/ less powder. Get the AA#9 if you want max effort / BB equiv loads.

DANG! Fred, is there a powder or caliber that you haven't loaded?

Your my "hero" when it comes to knowledge base on reloading. That's a very sincere compliment BTW :embarassed:

  4. AA9 will get your .357 sig rounds moving nicely. Make sure you're using a quality jacketed projectile.

My buddy ask about a 44 mag load and I said I'll check on line.
He ask what manual I was looking at on line?

Oh I'm not looking at a manual I'm asking Fred!

Thanks! Some do not share your thoughts, so I thank you. I think I posted before when someone asked about how many calibers do you load for. I currently load for something like 23 diff handgun & rifle rounds & have loaded others. I have not tried every powder, but then again, I have tried a few. Right now I bet I have 20 diff powders on hand. Some partial # cans I'll never use because I didn't care for it. Does it mean I know more than other guys, maybe, maybe not, but it's why I think of myself as a handloader & not just reloader. I know how fast you can get into trouble but also know how simple it all really is.

    Fred:

You loadin' your 45-120 with real powder or that sissy smokeless stuff.

Got a buddy who has a Sharps 45-120 that we stuff with FFG... used to be a hoot to shoot out at 300 yards until the recoil started breaking my collar bone.

Great fun, made me feel like Quigley Down Under which really shouldn't have come as a surprise since I am pretty much his identical twin.

NOpe, I cheated on that one a bit. It was FFG all day. Just fill it up & smack a 500gr bullet on top & go. I sold her off though, needed money for that buffalo hunt & hated cleaning it.

Anybody know off hand what publications have the most extensive sig load data? I've got Lyman's 49th, but would like some more in depth 357 sig data.

    Thanks yall.

    ...:fred:..

....You can also use Power Pistol for some good load combinations for the 357 sig.

Oh man, I can't believe someone went there. It's been about 45 years since I got pegged w/ the FF moniker.:ack: Probably why so many forum posters won't use their first name in their ID.
Jack can be Grand Poobah, age before good looks every day.

AA#9 and Power Pistol. Been satisfied with both powders for my 357 sigs.
Always used 124,125 jacketed bullets with those powder's.

May I remind you good sir that 'Beauty' was a horse.

(There's probably not more than 3 or 4 people on here who are old enough to know what that means. :crying:)
