Spent an enjoyable morning with Scott Caylor from GoodToGo Ammo (we were testing some new 357 Sig loads). Since we were already there and I had the ammo on hand, we also tested the Buffalo Bore Barnes X (one of my favorites) and the Underwood FMJ practice round (not the Gold Dot that recently made the jump into hyperspace).

    Here is the chrono data,

Location: Ladonia, TX, nearest notable city is McKinney, TX. Elev. 630 ft. Temp 68 deg. Humidity 66%

Test Gun: Glock 31 gen 4 with both stock OEM barrel (4.5") and extended KKM Precision (5.3") barrel

    Distance from chrono: 10 feet

    Results with KKM 5.3" barrel

    Underwood FMJ

hope you find this information helpful.

CORRECTION: Nearest notable city is Telephone!

Just kidding. I love that area. I spend at much time in Telephone/Ivanhoe/Elwood as the wife allows. We head over to the beer store in Ladonia when we don't feel like going over the river. The last time there I shot a 150 lbs. pig with my stock Glock 31 and Win Ranger T. It went through the skull, down the neck, and into the chest from about 7 yards. Holly mackreal, that stuff is deadly.

Glad to see some new stuff out there to try out.

That's interesting - Scott was telling me about the wild pigs on the drive over.

As an update, we've settled on the specs. for the new production load, hopefully an announcement later this week.

    thx!

    Up a tree.
The OP forgot to mention the weight of the projectiles - which is helpful in making useful sense of chrono data since we cannot calculate muzzle energy without that info.

Even crappy 10MM stuff goes 1500 FPS or more if the bullet weight is 135 grains or less - if you get my drift. So how heavy were they?

The Buffalo Barnes and Underwood loads are known to be 125 gr. Should have added that, though.

    thx!
