I went to the range today with my Trojan and had less than favorable results. I loaded my first mag and got about 6 rounds fired before.........1st FTE followed by 3-4 more. I thought maybe it was the ammo so I switched ammo only to have one FTE after another. After I went through roughly 7 more FTE's in a row I knew there was an issue other than ammo so I put the gun away . When I got home I field stripped the gun to find that the barrel link had broke in half :crying:.

Sorry to hear that. That sucks. New gun? I'm eager to hear what STI says and does.

    Yeah, he just got it.

That's very surprising, but STI should hook you up.

  4. Waiting for pics, are they using MIM for barrel links? I recall a bad lot of mag catches supplied to DW

I really don't know if the link is MIM or not :dunno:

I just got off the phone with Dave from STI. Nice guy, he gave me an RA# and said they would have it back as soon as possible. I should have it shipped out soon. I will keep you guys updated with the outcome. I am disapointed but am confident that STI will fix the gun in a timely fashion.

Why not just have them send you a new link?

It is unfortunate, but it should be fixed without delay. :)

That was my first thought. I am mechanically inclined and could change the link easily enough. The reason I didn't just ask them to send my a link is because I don't know if the link was causing the FTE's or if there was something else wrong that caused the link to break. If I knew it was JUST the link I would just request that they just send me a new one. If that makes any sense :dunno:

Because links have to be precision fitted. They are not a ¨drop in¨ part.

I have never seen one that wasn't a drop in part.
You'd just have to know the right length.
