Boone & Crocket reticle

Discussion in 'Hunting, Fishing & Camping' started by Elliott, Dec 17, 2008.

  1. Just for everyones information. I had the opportunity to test my rifle and load at 300 and 500 yards. The Boone and Crockett reticle's aiming points for these distances were dead on. I was shooting a six inch steel target. I was using Remington 180gr pointed soft point core lock. Caliber is 300 win-mag. Scope is Leupold VXIII, 4.5~14 x 40mm.
I was very pleased with the accuracy of the B&C reticle.
  2. I should have mentioned, the rifle is a Remington 700 BDL.

  3. I like a german #6 . To bad not all leupold scope can be retrofitted with them
  4. Does the German #6 offer a bullet drop compensating reticle? Just curious.
  5. No, the 3 post (german recticle) imho prevents alot of clutter in the view. I havd a Nikon BDC scope that works darn great, but at far distance the BDC line can distract and get in the way.

Even worst in low lights, this becomes a bigger issues.
