Anyone know the title or author of the fictional book about the Alllied invasion of Japan in WWII- had it been carried out?
I think it came out around a year ago.

I have a couple of non-fiction books about the planned invasions, but am curious about the "what if" story.

Well, except for the recent part, I would say " Downfall" by Westheimer is what you are looking for. But it is an old book, a re-issue from the 70's of "LIghter than a Feather" under a new name. I found it an enjoyable read though and historiacally plausable from what I know of the Pacific theater.

I have a book with that title, but I don't recall that being the author. Of course, with "Downfall" being the big plan of ending the war, there probably are several books titled that.

    Thanks.
I will look that up somewhere.
