Any of you guys ever try building a wood strip boat? I'm thinking of getting into it as a winter project with my father, building a Kayak. I've been looking at some sites and reading a book or two and it looks like a lot of fun work. My design choice is looking like one from bearmountain.com, with a deck design like the ones Redfish has.

So for you guys that have been down the road before me, any tips? Stories? Accidents?;g Do tell.

    Cheers

I've never built one - but a guy runs a school for boat building on the north shore of Lake Superior - Grand Marais I think. It's a one or two week class where you build your own boat. Really cool boats too.
