So for the last few years, I have been building an AR15. I started almost 5 years ago when I bought the lower at a gun show and have been slowly adding parts to make it what I wanted it to be. The problem was that when I started, I neither knew exactly what it was that I wanted it to be and was very low on cash, so many parts were "almost" what I wanted them to be. Well, years go by and it's almost exactly there. However, I just realized recently that I really wasn't happy with the gun - .223 is too expensive to plink with, and a 9mm conversion is too expensive of an investment. Realizing that I'd take a loss on it regardless of how long I waited, I finally sold it.

Now, at this point I was feeling empty because I was a gun short. So, to ease my pain, I wanted something to ease my pain. Now the P99 has given me a solid chubby since I first handled one in 2006. However, with the advent of the PPQ, the P99 gens 1 & 2 have been impossible to find - I found this out when I tried to blow my tax return on one? Since then, I have fondled a few of them, and found them to be just as orgasmic as the P99, so I settled on that.

    HOWEVER

My nearest gun shop, which had one in stock for the last month, just sold it two days ago. I called a few other shops, and all of them had the same story: "just sold our last one a few weeks ago, and all our distrubuters are on backorder for the 9mm one."

Disgruntled, I went to the gun shop near my work and asked the guy to sell me a full-size 9mm.

Guess what I finally settled on?

    Har har. :nutcheck:

No, I decided to not spend my entire budget, and got this. Left me with a few hundred to spend on important things.

I shot and hated the ergonomics of the gens 1-3, so I was dead-set against the glocks. However, the gen4's grips actually have rounded edges, so they don't feel like bark to hold. I almost went with the XD, but that I also shot and, aside from the comfy grips, felt less fun to shoot than the glocks. He had no CZs, and I REALLY don't like the berettas. I wanted a polymer that was accurate enough and fun enough to shoot, and that felt good in my hands. I also decided that if I couldn't have the Walther, I at least wanted a pistol with a good aftermarket.

    That, and I decided the moment that I shot a buddy's gen 4 22, that I would own a gen4.

Left 'er out on purpose. :tongueout:
Although, as far as semi-compact pistols go, the Glock 23 is one of my favorites.
