I live in Loudoun County (northern VA). I'm looking to do more shooting beyond the indoor range. Perhaps IDPA, outdoor, something with some movement. Does anyone have suggestions that are local? I'm also looking for a shooting activity my ten year son can do we me as well as he loves to shoot. Appreciate any and all suggestions. THX!

Normally I would mention Arlington/Fairfax, but its full. Might want to consider the Loudoun County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA). Great programs and alot of fun. IWLA Youth Programs

One of the Fairfax members does teach a kids league and there are opportunites at the NRA range for kids.

Here is a list of IDPA for VA: IPDA - VA

    Hope this helps!

    ETA: Vafish is the one!

I teach kids at the Centreville IWLA and the NRA. PM me for specifics.

The IWLA in Leesburg does the NRA Youth Hunter Challenge series.

If you want some action pistol shooting North Mountain is a great group. Not quite local, but about an hours drive.
