Like the title says, my Quark eats up those 123 batts like crazy, it goes about 1.5 hrs if I use the light on high. I t had the lower moon beam setting but what fun is that...

prices around here are a high at CVS for $15 a piece to a batt store that is $11 p/pair. Is there a decent online place where I can buy in bulk like 20 at a time ??

    Batteryjunction.com. $1.00 each. I've probably bought 350 of them.

Hiddeneyes beat me to it because I type with two fingers.

I'm glad this popped up, as I'd been meaning to ask. My Scorpion has always been a battery hog, but I've been using it more lately, so I'm noticing it more.

How is shipping with Battery Junction?

I've never noticed shipping with BatteryJunction so it must be reasonable. IIRC my last order was about $10 for shipping, but it was a decent sized order.

Right now they have Rayovac 123 cells $115.00 for 100 of them. Pretty good price. I've used their Titanium cells and paid like $0.80 each. More you buy the better price you get. I often do a group buy with a few friends to get all of us more savings. I also get maybe a 100 extra to sell to friends at a mark-up. I know several people that don't want to get more than 4 at a time. They always get them from me, still at a significant savings over local stores.

Poor run times, lumens OTF, and price to light ratio.

    Just say no.

Hell my Fenix PD31 puts out 304 lumens uses CR123's or 18650 rechargeables and cost $60. Specs are as good or better than anything Surefire puts out.

I own two Surefire lights and they aren't worth money paid period.

OP, look into quality rechargeable batteries and a charger. It will change the way you use your lights.

    +1 on the Battery Junction..

I've got their CR123 batts in my G@ surefire lights and so far everything is good. Used one of my G2 the other night for 1.5 hrs @ a MVA. never missed a lick......

If you're looking for something local until you can get something shipped, Lowes usually carries 2 packs for around $5.

For those of you running 18650s, will a single one replace two cr123s in a flashlight. Looks like they are roughly twice as long. I've got a few lights that take two 123 cells, but with a rechargable you are only looking at about 900mah and with a 18650 it is much higher.

I've cut my battery buying by almost half when I got some rechargables, but run time suffered since they are about half the capacity.

That is entirely up to the flashlights powerhead, some can but the 2 different lights I have cannot, it will over heat the LED and maybe cause a "Vent and Flame" issue with the battery.
But several lights can just google the light and look at the batteries needed.

    Repeat. Fresh Quality batteries.

Amazon is second for Surefire brand. Beware cheap batteries.

Lowes is local source at 2 for 4.95
