I just bought a gun safe, but I have more pistols than rifles.

    I need some pistol racks?
Store bought or homemade, it doesn't matter.

    What do you use?

    Thanks in advance.

I had a similar dilemma. I use the narrow rack-em maximizer attached to the inside of the safe door. It's not perfect, you have to juggle the position of the gun holders vertically so they don't hit any inner shelf, and if, like me, you don't want to drill holes in the door you need to modify the brackets a bit. But for $50 it's not bad.

I bought the plate racks at Wally Mary. I think they were 3.99 or so. Hold like 7 pistols in it

What my dad does is keeps the guns in those padded pouches and then you can cram them in there for days. While not as pretty as on racks, space in the gunsafe is at a premium.

I would not do this without oiling the gun generously and using dessicants as you're inviting rust.

I've never had much luck with woodworking, and I'm dangerous with power tools.

It would look like crap anyway.

How many pistols do you have and how much space?

Look up fubarprotocol YouTube video HOMEMADE PISTOL STORAGE RACK BUILD. Very convenient, very easy, very cheap. If I did it, anyone can.

    Darn good point!

I wrap all pistols in a silicone impregnated cloth, then place
in a GunSock. Rifles are in GunSocks as well.

Yeah we are pretty conscientious of it, so we make sure to both oil them and also wipe them down at least once every couple of months.

I've always been fond of this guy's products:
    http://manaboutracks.com/default.aspx
I've never heard anyone have anything bad to say about anything that's come out of his shop.

(Warning: Looking at the pics that some of his customers have submitted under the "About" tab on his site may require a drool guard for your keyboard.)

  16. Somewhere on the net I found a plastic coated steel rack that can that is two levels high. It stacks 7 handguns on each level, 14 in all. It fits on the top shelf of my safe.

I found that the wooden racks take up too much room.

    You mean one of these?

I have just one of these racks for my safe. I need to get a second and double stack them.
