Anyone know which forend for a Remington 870 (marine magnum to be exact) would be best for allowing a Mesa Tactical 8 shell side saddle. Reason I ask is because someone at work told me that the factory forends, when racked all the way back, slightly overlap the reciever by a quarter inch or so thus the desired shell side saddle would not allow the forend to completely go all the way back to facilitate the ejecting of a shell/cycling of new one. Any suggestions or feedback? Thanks in advance..
Hello. To use a six- and eight-shot SureShell carrier mounted on the left side of the Remington 870 shotgun, you must use a tactical forend that does not overlap the receiver, or a factory forend that is cut down appropriately. SureFire® forends are fully compatible with our six-shot SureShell carriers, but will need about ½ inch shaved off the end to be installed with Mesa Tactical eight-shot SureShell carriers.
Acknowledged. Out of curiousity, if I wanted to do a setup with the 4 round right side Mesa carrier and 8 round left side (both purchase seperately) on the same shotgun (870 Police), how would I go about doing so, (i.e. step by step right to left arrangement of screws, washers, ect. and what parts should I expect to be left over)??
Simply notch the foregrip you have. It's easy and not a great deal of material needs to be removed. It's also a FREE mod
