    I've been looking at a 92A1 and a M9 A1.

It would seem the difference in the 92A1 is the internal buffer and the captive spring, plus it comes with 3 x 17 rd mags which would be nice all things considered, and dovetail front sight.

I'm not worried we'd wear either one out. Purpose is just a fun gun for me and my sons to shoot at paper. I've stockpiled mags in preparation for the purchase so I'm good there.

So Beretta guys, any preference if choosing between these two or anything extra to know about the M9 A1? I'm sure either will be sweet but wanted to hear from owners who have or had both.

I was also checking out the 92FS as previously advised but these two caught my eye. These being all tacti-fool looking  I know the kids would dig them more, it's really for them.

    Thanks

    HK

I have 2 slightly different 92 models. They seem to be so fairly similar I'd just look & lean to the one you see 1st at a good price. That alone may be hard to come by.

92FS, 92A1, M9, M9a1 all the same in reality. Just slight differences. I would buy what is cheaper.
I have a M9 & use it for what your going to use it for. A plus on the M9 models is the lack of the additional writing & warnings on the frame & slide.

Also you can add sights on the M9 & FS models by sending in your slide to http://tooltechgunsight.com/

The changeable front sight is nice, but I don't want the rail.

That firearm is fantastic. I may or may not have a 92FS from like '98 or '99. They are truly a work of art.

I have the 92A1, my first but not only Beretta.

Holsters were hard to find when I first bought but now there are quite a few choices.

The captive guide rod can be replaced with non-captive steel or polymer and after market captive steel are available. Front and rear sights can both be replaced. And 3 17 round magazines.

I see on the Beretta site they sell a kit with a steel replacement trigger and the D spring. Out of stock right now on there of course. I'll look around.

I can't wait to go shoot this! I showed it to junior and he was like "Whoah, that's a cool pistol! I get that one when you kick the bucket." Thanks son.

He does not so much appreciate the polymer wonders like his old man.

That oversized, blocky dustcover is sacrilige on the 92!

I said the same thing until I had to buy a 100$ mount from surefire to put a light on my M9.

I don't like the round trigger guard on the 92A1. Also a light doesn't fit flush like the M9A1 does.

I thought I would post here, but i'm selling all of my service calibre handguns except the 92. I shoot it so well there is little point in fooling around with other weapon systems.

That includes the baby glock. The 92 conceals almost as well.

    Love me some 92.
