I just thought I'd post a thread about how thoroughly impressed I was with Benchmade's Customer Service. I have a Benchmade Mel Pardue pre-production knife which I got off of E-Bay for a good price. The knife did not lock properly, so I thought I'd call Benchmade and see if I could pay them to repair it. The Benchmade tech said they would fix it for free and advised me that it was a rare knife and was probably valuable. He advised me not to carry and said I should probably stick it in my safe. Yesterday, I received the repaired knife back from Benchmade along with a new Benchmade 530. There was a note on the invoice that said they repaired my old knife, but did not have the parts in stock for such an old knife to fully repair the lock. They further stated that they were supplying me with a fully warrantied replacement knife. The lock on my original knife (which is now in my safe) seems to work fine and the new Benchmade 530 is an awesome piece of hardware. Now I own four Benchmade knives (the 3rd is a McHenry Williams axis model, the 4th a little Balisong) and I would not hesitate to purchase another (maybe a Griptillian ). Just thought I'd share. WOW, I'm still pinging off the walls!!
