The link is working for me, but its unclear which model you're refering to. I'm assuming either a TRP or Range Officer. :dunno:

A SA 1911 is on my short list. Just haven't decided which model yet. Congrats! Looking forward to your range report.

    Congrats, Hoagie!

On the one hand, I really like my TRP. I shoot it in matches and generally get a ton of trigger time on it. It runs great. I'm well over 10k rounds downrange with it. Other than the sights and replacement springs, it's a stock gun.

On the other hand, I have some gripes. The machining is pretty poor on mine. Some slight tool marks on the outside, but it's really rough on the inside, particularly in the magazine well. In fact, of all the TRP's I've seen, mine is the worst. Yours will likely be better.

The other thing that gets under my skin is the mainspring housing / internal lock and everything that goes with it. The mainspring isn't captured in the msh like it normally would be... it sticks out the top. Means the hammer strut is shorter than normal. Titanium firing pin needs a specific spring. It just bugs me that I can't use standard 1911 parts without switching out everything. Another thing - the angle on the mag well is such that it's fairly picky with 10 round mags. I tried to shoot limited 10 division once and had a mec-gar mag get wedged in pretty badly. Not sure if that matters to you or not. Last but not least, there isn't a square inch on the gun that doesn't have some sort of billboarding on it. After all, it's tactical. :whistling:

Again, I run it as a stock TRP and it works really well. Just some observations...

    Duly noted:cool:
I will be using this as my daily carry piece. 8 rounds is fine for me.

You'll love it. I'm pretty much happier when I have something to gripe about.

Only reason I tried going Limited 10 for one match was because the holster I had disqualified me from Single Stack. Normally carry and compete with 8+1.
