There have been several bear attacks here already this year. But there have been more attacks by moose. It was a bad winter, and the moose are holding a grudge it seems.

A bit overconfident about the power level of the 10mm round I do believe...

If I were going into bear country with only a handgun, it would be a 44 magnum, PERIOD.

The mere sight of a Glock to most bears would be enough to deter an attack. I mean these things can go through air port x-ray devices plus using cop killer bullets would make it even more lethal.

There was a bear attack in WA a while back. Bears started getting to close to the houses so the married couple went out after armed with rifles. Wife took the first shot and the bear took exception. Had her pinned until hubby came to the rescue. The guys dilemma on how to shoot without hitting the wife caused a delay in resolution. I think he even had some time to talk over the situation with the maulee as he decided what to do. This delay came under great discussion for an extended period of time. (WHAT where you F-ing WAITING for?)

It made for a great christmas greeting card for the rest of the family.

Yeah I totally agree. It's not the hammer of THOR! It won't take out a bear lickety split.

I am probably alone here but I think this thread and the other current bear G17 thread ought to be merged... I won't link to the specific thread but you lnow, the one about bears and the G17...

    Seriously? :headscratch:

There's no way I'd feel remotely comfortable with any service caliber for brown bear protection.

I would like to see these people who tell you the 9mm is great/all you need and it's all a question of shot placement!

I am not too sure how realistic this is but looks good: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd6FXJKvuHs"]Bear - Trailer - YouTube[/ame]
