I have worked up a 10mm delf-defense load that feels pretty good in terms of control and very good in terms of accuracy. I don't have a chronograph though, and wanted to see if anyone had worked up a similar load and chronoed it.

    180-gr. Hornady XTP
    6.6-gr. Unique

IIRC, the reloading manual shows this between 1050 and 1100 fps. I'd like confirmation of that if possible.

I load midrange .40 with an 180 gr fmj over 6.2 gr of Unique. Alliant shows a max in .40 of 6.8 grains of Unique with a 180 gr JHP. I guess my question would be, why so slow? If you like it that slow, you could put that same bullet and charge in a .40 and get the same results. That bullet will go 1300fps easily so why give up the power, isn't that the point of 10mm? Just asking...
