I want to get the barrel for my Saiga 7.62x39 threaded for a compensator. Does anyone know a machinist in the NoVa area that does could work? I'd like to have it threaded with the barrel in place, rather than having to pull it....so I'd rather find a quality machinist locally instead of shipping it out.

(And yes, I know that threading the barrel makes me liable for compliance with 922R. I'm doing a full conversion from sporter to AK, and it will have all the required compliance parts.)

    Thanks!

Cool, thanks! It's always nice to know some good gunsmiths down at this end of the world!

By the way, I took the Saiga to Quantico yesterday and it shot great. Certainly feels more "manly" than the AR (which also did fine). I'll probably start my conversion on it this week if I get time -- next weekend will be clobbered with the Sectional match.

    Thanks again!

I quit using them after they ruined a $1300 Noveske upper belonging to my wife. It required shortening and permanetely attaching a long AAC M4-2000 FS'r to fix. Randall at AR15barrels.com fixed it.

TTi tried to tell me that John Noveske has crossed threaded it. BEWARE of TTi.

TTi's work after getting off the Gem-Tech M4-96 mount.

After getting it back from Randall fixed, was 14.5" and he had to cut it to 13.7"

Well, Don at SPU said he won't be working on any AK barrels until at least the end of the summer. So much for that option....

    Still open for other suggestions.

    Thanks!
