What is a fair price for a used Baer SRP w/3-4k rounds through it but essentially no noticeable external wear? Pistol was never placed in a holster. This is a stock Bear Coat model w/all the factory trimmings. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

    Is it a 1.5" model?

If not, I'd say no more than $1800.

Thanks. No 1.5". I saw one on Gunbroker go for $1665 recently but it had been carried and showed holster wear. I was thinking the bottom half of $17XX would be a decent price. I am debating between a used SRP or a new custom carry which would be about the same price.

The used SRP is "pre-depreciated" whereas any new pistol will take a hit. If you're certain you won't resell, get what you really want.

I'd take the SRP over the Custom Carry.

The SRP is the best 1911 Baer builds, in my opinion.

Your's (1.5 and HC) is one of my favorites in your stable, and that's saying something IMHO.

The chances of you needing it are slim but I've heard of Baer not doing warranty work on pistols purchased used. Just something to consider.

Thanks for the input. Decided to go with the used SRP. I met the seller today and we made a deal at a fair price. It's a baer coat 2.5" gun with no external wear. Seller shot it but never holstered it and seems to have really babied it. I have managed to get a little rust in the checking on a HC gun I have, so I wanted to try the bear coat which helped sell me on the SRP over the Custom Carry. If the SRP doesn't float my boat I am confident that I won't take a huge hit to sell it. But after handling it in the store, I was really impressed with the fit and finish of the SRP and I think it will be a keeper. The only thing I can see myself changing is replacing the rear sight with a heinie straight eight (the metal ring around the night sight lamps seems really distracting on the rear) and maybe adding a magwell. Can't wait to get it to the range once my 10 days are up. I will be sure to post some pictures when I get a chance. The only thing I don't like about this gun is the display box - no idea what to do w/it. To me this is a working gun that should be shot, not sitting in a display case. LB should drop it from the spec and take a few bucks off the price. He can use the leftover stock of boxes for the centennial editions.

Very cool. I'd love to have one of those. I've had two Bear Coated LB's and like it very much.

Beautiful Bac! No doubt the hard chrome is sexier, but I really wanted a black gun this time. Here is a poor cell phone pic from the FFL today. The photography doesn't do the gun any favors.

You can get fancier and much more expensive, but I don't see how a 1911 gets much better practically speaking.
