Where is the best place (price) for Les Baer Customs? I got one from an old man ,of which I'm one, up north some where but can't remember. There may be a better source now.

Crazy John is a hell of a nice guy and has great prices on Baers. Make sure when you call him though you have a little time as it won't be a short conversation. I bought my Baer from Sporting Arms and they were great to deal with as well. Good luck in your search, I'm sure you will be quite happy with a Baer as long as you know going in they are built on the tight side.

I bought 4 out of 5 Baers from CJ,I would have bought my first one from him if I had knew about him at the time.

I probably paid 250-300 more than I would have if I had gone to CJ for it !:crying:

Just as an aside. I had numerous Baers and my 5" guns always ran and my 4 1/4" guns never did. Just my experience !

John's a great guy. Loved talking to him again. Now Les was another deal. See I wanted black rear sights and a white dot with a tritium insert and Baer doesn't have anything like that. Trijicon makes them all day and my old bud, Wayne Novak was going to install them for me. Les wanted to paint a white dot on the front of his.. He said that if his bunch didn't make it and install it my warranty was gone. Called Ed Brown and spoke with his son. They're much more accommodating.

Oh, John told me he could handle Les for me.

So are you going to get something from Ed Brown? Seems like Baer doesn't want to do it. You probably wouldn't need the warranty anyways. I've read that les was an ass before, but I don't have any first hand experience.

No kidding. That's crazy. I'm sure they make fine guns, I don't have any from either of them, but you'd think they'd put different sights on for you.

Really, I'd just buy what I want and do it myself. Or have a local guy do it, but that's just me.

You need to be able to bend a little. Sights? Come on now, Brown will install 10-8's for me so that's the way I'm going. Les it like Henry Ford on his Model A. It comes in all colors as long as that color is black. He sold a hell of a lot of them. But if I'm paying out that much money I should be able to have the sights I want. Paint a white dot on the front. I don't think so. Not no but hell no.

I'm quite certain the only reason Brown will put 10-8 sights on for you is because they sell 10-8 sights. :dunno:

I know. It's a $50 option or $48.95 plus shipping from 10-8 and then installation. 1.5 ins group at 50 where Baer charges $295 extra. I've done my research and I'm going with Brown.

My TRS originally came with a plain black rear sight from Baer. I recently had the 10-8 installed.
