What an awesome time. Alaska is quite possibly the most beautiful place I have ever seen, followed by Colorado in a close second. We only saw the Kenai Peninsula areas of Homer, Seward, Soldotna and then Anchorage. Just beautiful. We did some "combat fishing" on the Kenai River and Halibut fishing in the Kachemak Bay about 50 miles out to sea. I can't wait to get back! I saw a few people carrying pistols, mainly revolvers. I asked the friend that we stayed with and he said that about half of his friends carried, even though he himself did not. Pictures? Yes, I have pictures. These are just the digital ones, the 35mm are being developed. Take a look at them here: http://www.ewertgroup.com/alaska

    Enjoy! I sure did.

"Some nice Coho Salmon (also called "Reds") I caught on the Kenai River near Soldotna"

    Just one small correction:
Sockeye Salmon are actually called Red Salmon. (Reds enter the Kenai River in July)
Coho Salmon are actually called Silver Salmon (Cohos run into the Kenai River in late August and September)

You'll have to come back and catch some Cohos. They are larger than Reds!

I'm glad you had a good time. We have been here so long we take it all for granted. It is good to be reminded once in a while.

    Incredible pics!! Thanks!

I'm surprised you came back. I wouldn't have. I'd have disappeared up there, never to be heard from again. :)

More than once my wife and I have talked about chucking it all and moving up there and finding new jobs. We just might do it someday.
