I shoot a 70# self bow which was made by a friend of mine. The guy who made it is kind of obsessed with bow making. He sent me a text yesterday asking if I would like to watch him make another on Saturday.
    I am ridiculously lucky.

A self bow is pretty close to a stick. It works just fine, a recurve is more refined and precise. I'm sure the wood will be osage orange. Pics had not occurred to me, I'll take my camera.
