Shortly after 911 . My wife lost the ability to email her daughter in Russia. At that time it was their main communication link.
It was a huge inconvenience and never could get a handle on just how it was done or by who but lasted for nearly two years. I have absolutely no proof.
I guess I'll get jumped on and told about tin foil hat and such but I think it was the government.

The New Mexico team held a huge pork roast fundraiser, and the aromatic cloud wafted sky high towards a hovering anti-terrorism drone.

    OLD OLD OLD news!

It became official "legal" on 08-08-08, but they were doing it long before. One thing about the new world order cronies, their justification as far as 'survival of the fittest" rises and falls on the fact of whether or not they tell people what they are doing/going to do. It may be done in an obscure way, but as long as they tell everyone, then it makes it okay not to care about people's rights, lives, or well being.

Heck, back in the 90's, good old AT&T was one of the first, wide spectrum information collection entities for the shadow .gubmint when it came to we American "civilians."

That's so retro. Back in the day, people in gun & militia usenet groups would add lists of alleged trigger words to their signature. Even then the state was monitoring electronic communications for certain words.

It could get funny when someone with a triggerword sig posted in an unrelated newsgroup, something dedicated to cats or whatnot. Some people would see the signature and freak the hell out, thinking they were on The List and the government would be coming for them directly.
