Puter says it a Invalid update control ctf file. AVG will not update, what do I do now?

    Thanks

Download the latest version, run it and choose repair.

Yep, had the same happen to me just about a week ago. I went back to Avast. I don't know why I tried AVG anyway.

you can either remove the .ctf files from the AVG download folder, or download a copy of AVG Mechanic which does this for you (this worked for me).

USed to use AVG, but it gives far too many false positives and misses actual threats. I ended up switching to NIS 2009, and have found it to be far superior.
