As much as I dislike the 9mm, I just bought one.

You can never go wrong with a G-17. I love mine.

Congrats on the G17. The 9mm is my favorite round by a large margin.

    Its that 40S&W I can't stand. ;)

...because conversion barrels are boring, that's why.

I personally just buy another gun.

The .40 sucks but it's available. I am one of those who likes owning armory grade service platforms I.E. 1911, M9, Glock 22, Glock 17, Smith and Wesson Model 66, etc. There's a reason major departments and forces don't use XD's, SR9's and Sig P250's.

I like those platforms as well. However, I could not care less who uses what.

The only thing that matters to me when I'm selecting a firearm for the collection is whether or not I like it. Other people don't affect my decisions. They never have. I'm more than capable of making my own decisions on what is good and what isn't.

I like XD's quite a bit and I couldn't care less who uses them or doesn't use them.

  8. The 9mm is a wise choice! I have a G19 and it is probably the most reliable pistol I own.

Now all you need is a G20 to round out your arsenal.

If I had to pick one caliber that was less useful than the others, it'd have to be the .380. The 9mm fills that niche is similar sized pistols these days. I consider the 9mm as a "Must Have" and own several, but I don't limit myself to one caliber. I also have several .40s and .45s---------OK, so I have two or three .380s as well. I do have a 17 and 19 Glocks, so I have the 9mm covered on the Glock side.

Thats interesting because I have a Gen. 2 Glock 22 also and feel the grip is a little hard to get comfortable with. My next Glock would probably be a Glock 23 just because it conceals better. I f I was to own a Glock in 9 Millimeter it would be a Glock 19.

The 19/23 is my first choice also in a Gen. 3 frame but the deal was on the 17. With the Gen 4 series, I prefer the 17/22 frame over the 19/23 frame.

I have heard that some prefer the Glock 17/22 with the Gen. 4 series as well. I just brough up the Glock 23 because its easier to CC. Some shoot the Glock 22 better and it has 2 extra round's. 16 Round's of .40 S&W is serious firepower!!!

    Congrats on the G17!

I own 3 9mm Glocks, the G19, G17 and the G34 and I love each one of them for different reasons, it may be redundant to have 3 guns of the same caliber from the same manufacturer but I haven't found another series of guns in the same caliber that I like better.

I plan on picking up a G26 and a G17L at some point and then as many of the 9mm C models that I can find, I don't see a real need for a compensated 9mm let alone a few of them but I just like'em lol.
