Bigger shirt would have prevented this.

Why? Open carry is legal in CT.

What is not said is if the theater was signed as a gun free zone. If it was, then he could be in some trouble if a DA want to make a case out of it.

Well, he ought to make some money out of it. We had a guy up here who was arrested for OC, essentially, sued, and won an "undisclosed" settlement that is reportedly pretty significant.

He won't make any money if the theater had a no gun sign posted.

    Sum Dum Guy.

Comply, moron. Whether he was in the right or not is irrelevant. What IS relevant is him ignoring compliance commands. Get off your cell phone and engage the police, dude. Sheesh. This isn't Nazi Germany (yet). Fight it in court. Or challenge them verbally while complying physically. Don't sit there on your phone.

signs don't mean ****. Worst they could do is ask him to leave.

And also, it was just released that he is a well known immigration attorney.

Well you may think the signs don't mean ****, but the state statutes disagree with you.
Sec. 29-28. Permit for sale at retail of pistol or revolver. Permit to carry pistol or revolver. Confidentiality of name and address of permit holder. Permits for out-of-state residents.
There is a punishment for violating 29-28...
    Sec. 29-37. Penalties.
Yes the property owner or person who exercises control over the property "could" ask you to leave. In this case the theater owners called police and the police tagged the guy with BOP. And subsection (6) of the Sec. 53a-181 (Breach of Peace 2nd Degree) states.
The Criminal Jury Instructions Breach of the Peace in the Second Degree includes the following.
If there really are no gun signs posted at this theater then this guy was not licensed to carry within the premises. And if he was not licensed to carry he may run afoul of the BOP statute if his actions rise to the level to warrant that charge. You and I may not like it but that's how the statutes read.

Notice how he wasn't charged with a firearms violation?

Signs have no meaning because it is not defined by law. Yes, the people who control the property can prohibit it, but how do you know that the sign was put up by people that control the property? States where signs have meaning have explicit instructions as to how the sign has to read, the size of the letters, the language that it is to be written in, etc.

Any person can slap a sticker on the window of a door of a building, doesn't make it official.

They could very well add or remove charges later on. Bottom line is the statutes are there even if no one has been charged or convicted based on them. In most other case it appears the police go with the Breach of Peace charge because its sort of a catch all when a specific charge doesn't fit. And that charge usually ends up getting dropped since BOP doesn't really apply when one is licensed to carry and has their firearm holstered when the man with a gun call is made.

Since the guy is apparently an attorney it will be interesting to see if the town carries the charges forwarded or drops the charges. In the mean time the local media and the anti gunners are doing their usual dance of "ZOMG a guy carried a gun!!! Into a movie theater!!!". Even thought the guy was permitted to carry.

I keep saying it, "out of sight, out of mind"!

If your going to do it then keep it hidden. You also act and dress like you're the last person anyone would guess to be armed.

War is being declared on CCW. The media is picking up all these little cases around the country like another mass shooting was prevented. It's only going to get worse.

And yeah, he should have complied with the police.

We don't know if he didn't, all we know is what is being reported by the blatantly anti gun news.
