Are USB 2.0 Products Backward Compatible

    I want to get a A new hard drive to connect to my USB 1.0 port.
    The product is a 2.0 . Are they backward compatible??

    yes it is backwards compatable but a usb hard drive was designed to work with the faster 2.0 interface and will be very, very slow otherwise. it would be worth it to add a usb 2.0 interface card for about $35.00 if you really want an external hard drive.
