Are non-leathal weapons a good idea?

    Hi Mas,

    Please share your opinion on carrying non-lethal weapons such as pepper spray or tasers in addition to a handgun. I can see where they may be useful in certain circumstances. However, I can also see a potential liability if you are forced to use your firearm for self-defense. By this I mean a prosecutor or jury believing that the use of the firearm was an overreaction since you had non-lethal means at your disposal. Thank you in advance for your response.

    A less-lethal tool and the skill to use it is always a good idea. It is often necessary to physically restrain someone you don't yet have a right to kill or cripple.
