I am debating a pistol build or maybe an all out SBR build.

The biggest question I have is which barrel length would be better as far as reducing or controlling the "punch to the face" feeling?

Is there that big a difference between the 7" and the 10" barrel?

And, if I went with a 7" barrel, is there a bigger difference in how the weapon is held?

I'm in the middle of a pistol build and want to do the 7 inch for the extra compactness but I've heard issues of extra problems with gas system going from 10 to 7 inch.

Good question I will be subscribed.

My AR pistol has an 11.5" bbl. No problem with functioning. It has a carbine length buffer tube and can be held to the shoulder to fire. I can easily hit steel at 100 meters with it. SBRs are not allowed in my state so this is as close as I can come to one. Personally I wouldn't go shorter than a 10" bbl.
