    Bah, that's a powder-puff load. Try a 1oz 3" 20 gauge slug out of a 3 pound AOW.

I'm not buying the video. That thing should have over three times the recoil of a 12G slug and they look like they are shooting movie blanks. I'd like to see it shot over a chrono.

Something does look a little "off" in that video. Having shot the 50cal in the M-88 quite a bit I can say that the recoil from it (standard API round in 24 lb rifle) was like shooting a magnum 12 ga load. What they were shooting should be a lot worse since the gun didn't look any where near as heavy and the load would generate as least as much if not more recoil.
Also, isn't it illegal for us to own anything over 50cal. I mean hasn't the ATF designated anything over 50cal as a destructive device? How can you have a modern 70cal firearm unless you went thru a bunch of paper work and hoop jumping with the ATF.

One of the blogs said the Intrepid Experimenter was Just Sure he qualified for the "sporting purposes" exemption to the Destructive Device clause in the NFA. After all, you can buy a .600 or .700 Nitro and even a ten bore Nitro. But I am fairly sure that H&H obtained prior approval before offering them for sale here.

I have not followed the 12 bore rifle from hell saga to know if they sought permission, and the feature 4 bore segment on the RIA plugola show never mentioned a mere technicality like that.

I doubt the BATFE is going to track him down on the basis of a single shot in a youtube, though.

We always warn people that Grandpa's pilfered service pistol with the US Property and serial number filed off is illegal. I doubt many of those are destroyed or surrendered to the government, but I doubt they are being tracked down and confiscated, either.

Most such illegalities are used as "piling on" charges when they prosecute you for something else. At least the couple I know of around here were.

put a 3inch remington buckhammer in a H&R single shot (or a 2oz turkey load) and you've got a 720 wtf... More kick for much less moola. :O)

I'd probably put trail boss in it.

Other than the availability, it is great stuff. There is no data for it because you don't need data for it.
