I had a friend install one in my 442. The difference in trigger pull is quite noticeable with the Apex kit. I highly recommend it.

Sorry not in FL, but I have installed an Apex j frame kit on a 442.

Pull weight went from 16 pounds before to 11 pounds with the kit. I have not shot it much after the kit install. 100 rounds with no problems after the kit.

What is the standard pull weight on a 442/642?

~16 give or take a bit. I've heard people claim #18!

I put in a Wolff trigger rebound spring (#13) and it improved it dramatically.

I installed the Apex kit. Definitely worth the money.

Late in the game here, but I also installed an Apex kit in my 442. The improvement was outstanding. You won't be sorry, especially considering the price.

How quick is the trigger rebound with these kits? I've tried cut or lightened rebound slide springs, and at some point the trigger isn't coming back quick enough for rapid shots. If the adrenaline is up, you could short stroke it.

IMHO, the trick for a good J-gun double action trigger is smoothing all the action parts, especially where the hand goes past the ratchet.
