I just sold my 24 inch LCD and now am using an IBM P96 monitor. Not that much of a setback since the colors on this P96 are popping.

I used to be a staunch CRT user until about a year ago. Now I learned to live with LCDs, since their advantages overweigh the drawbacks. Can't beat a 28" 1920x1200 monitor that costs 300 bucks and does not crush your desk with its weight.

yep i use a 19 inch Viewsonic. It's lasted me almost 7 years. CRT have better pictures then LCD, period.
It's heavy though so when it finally breaks or gets dark, i figure in a year or two, its right into the dumpster and replace with an LCD.

Still got 2 NEC 19" monitors. They work great and I can't justify replacing them before they start to die.

Slyvania F50. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Wish lightning hadn't taken out my 17 CRT. Made the switch. IMHO CRTs are better viewing.

I have a CRT with a nice antiglare screen on my desktop computer. When I use my laptop at home I have another CRT I hook up to it.

I will get a flat-panel monitor again soon. I only got rid of the 24 inch because I got a good offer on it and it was almost five years old. I was planning to get a new LED monitor but when I dug out the IBM P96, the picture looked so good I decided to go retro for awhile.

Still have an old SONY CRT on the kids compy...and my compy repair station is using an old HP CRT. I finally went to a LCD on mine when Viewsonic came out with the 2ms (922 I think it is) and true to the advertising it doesn't ghost....But I have it next to my Panasonic plasma which I watch some movies from my compy on (via DVI-HDMI) and there truly is no comparison in picture quality :whistling:

Yes you can. A 30" 2560x1600 monitor that a client sent for free. :tongueout: Ironically it came the same day as the one I ordered. So two of them is really nice.

I have a Hitachi 21" beast CRT, replaced my Viewsonic 17" CRT a while ago.
I still use it mainly because I can't afford to get any new "unnecessary" things right now, and this beast is still kickin'. When it does finally go, I'll replace it with an LCD.

Funny thing is, I got this beast used, and free, at a now defunct computer store where I worked as a tech, a customer brought in several old CRTs that weren't working right, just wanted to get rid of them. We tweaked them just a little (the controls hidden inside the cover), and now they work fine.

I've got an 18" Phillips hooked up to my old PC, but am currently using the newer 19" Westinghouse LCD that was given to me along with a PC that I'm now using as my main system.

It took me a little while to get used to the LCD, but now that I am it's hard to go back as the LCD is much brighter.

I dunno, the IBM P96 CRT is much brighter than any LCD I've ever used.

still got a 19" viewsonic that i paid $350 for, 6 or 7 years ago. That is a long time for a monitor to last i think. Its a very good monitor an "ultrabrite", the usual thing that makes people toss a monitor is when the screen starts getting dark, and that hasn't happened.
It still works and the picture is good so if it aint broke im not replacing it.
