I just went to my local gun store and they had a Trabzon Gun Industry Corp. 1911a1 for a decent price. It'll be my first 1911, I'm on a budget so just wondering if someone has any experience with them before. Here's a link to one on gunbroker.com http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=154961858 Thanks in advance, Anthony

    That's a Regent 1911, which is really a Norinco.

I'd pass. For $550 you can get a much better known gun, especially slightly used.

The one I'm speaking of is at my local gun store and its only $450 new/used well its never fired a shot a guy bought it last week with out telling his wife and she is making him sell it so it has to be sold as used, is that a good deal?

Off the subject, but I feel quite sorry for a man that relinquishes his all to a woman.

If she is going to be mad at you anyway, it might as well be for something cool like a new gun.

I personally have a bias against anything chinese built.
Are these the guns that norinco had made in turkey?

    Yes they are.

Everything else aside, Norinco builds a solid 1911.

    I thought so.
I have never heard anything but good reports about the Norinco 1911. My biggest problem is actually buying chinese goods. I try to avoid it as much as I can, but that's nearly impossible.

It doesn't bother me to the point that I won't buy a well made 1911 or other Norinco pistols.
