I am STILL waiting on mine. Evidently, Ruger has fallen behind on production.

  5. I was fortunate to obtain one back in July and it has proven very reliable. It is also well made. Ruger did their homework on this one. It has most of the bells and whistles people want. The major problem seems to be a lack of availability, everybody wants one,but they are very hard to find.

A good basic 1911 for a very reasonable price is the Rock Island Armory 1911.

Ruger claims it is sending out 300 SR1911's each week to distributors. Seriously back ordered.

I have heard that some gun shops sold them for $599.00.

That has to be the best deal on a 1911 you could find.

I want one, but my dealer has only been able to get one in and it sold in less than an hour.

    It would be.

Actually we call it that because Sportsman's Warehouse came in to Oregon with a bang and drove most of the gunshops quickly out of business. And then they went under. Now all of them are outdoor sports 'whatever' shops.

It's the only 1911 that stovepipes and jams in our collection. I think it may be mag related. Only had factory mags with us at the time. Nice gun. Did it 4 times in 150 rounds. We'll see. Won't stay around long if it won't work. Can't stand a gun that doesn't work.

I just noticed that your trigger isn't skeletonized like the one I have (or the one in bac's pic). Have you changed it?
