    Greetings,

I live in NJ and can't have any mags that hold more than 15rnds. Being that Glock does not offer 15rnd mags for the G17, I'm curious if anyone has done a grip chop on a Gen 4 G17 to accept G19 mags?

I currently have a Gen2 G17, Gen2 G19 and Gen3 G19 (along w/ a G26 and Gen4 G23). I am sold on the Gen4's and really really like the G17, but can't tolerate a 10rnd mag in the pistol. I'm fully aware of losing resale value and what not, but I do think the G17 has the perfect recoil signature.

Some questions on the gip chop.

Can you still use a grip plug?
Can the hump placement be moved or removed?
By doing the chop, does this limit me for IDPA and other competitive events?

Just carry the 19 and be done with it. The grip chops look hokey and you are not going to gain much by having the little extra barrel length on the 17.

You cannot use a standard plug after a chop has been done. The hump can be removed, but it's location can not be changed. The chop will limit the classes the pistol can be entered in. TXPO
