    Hello Georgia GT'ers,

I was wondering if anyone on here somewhat close to Atlanta has a burn barrel on their property that they would allow me to use for an afternoon. I live within city of Marietta limits, so can't burn anything at all during the summer and need to apply for a permit for other parts of the year.

My family has a hotel and needs to destroy several years worth of registration cards. Since these contain people's personal information, I can't throw them out, and don't really wanna pay a document destruction company. We have a paper shredder, but I'm pretty sure using it with a large number of cards will either kill the motor or chew up the teeth with staples, etc.

We can discuss compensation over PM -- please let me know if you can help me out.

  2. I hope you can find someone to help you out.
I know with the burn laws we have around Atlanta
I have to wait till October to burn all I have collected
in the way of brush and clippings from the Summer.
I don't know how many cards you have, but if you
don't have any luck with the barrel, do you have a
large outdoor grill for cooking ?.
You can burn them in it. It may take a little longer
but it can be done. Just keep a pack of hotdogs
close by in a little cooler and if anyone ask, tell them
you were getting the fire started to have a dog roast.

A local TV station runs a shredding day every now and then. I think it is the NBC station.

+1 on the grill. Get you a 22" Weber kettle and get to work.

Indeed. We only own something like 94% of small to medium sized hotels in this country.

Hey, I prefer a "Patel" who is pro gun to a "southern democrat" addicted to meth any and every day of the week.
