Lived in Hawaii until 2007. Are you looking to know something specific or more of a general question?

Used to live on Oahu. Seems like I've seem someone post from there, but can't recall.

If you are wondering if it as nice as the pictures look, then yes.

I lived there from 95 - 97. Living arrangements were not much to talk about (AO-177) but the islands are beautiful

Was just there last week. I lived there for 10 years. You either love it or hate it. Those who arent fans of island life or ocean or beach life...tend to not enjoy it. Its got its pros & cons like any other city.

My biggest complaint would be the traffic. There are over 1 million people living on Oahu. The trash issue is a big problem too. Both issues have a rough future. Oh yeah and all my friends are complaining about the insane electricity bills they have now.

But on the plus side. Every day off is vacation. Gorgeous weather, beachs, tanned exotic women, great food choices, great fishing, boating and diving. Awseome hikes.

Gun laws and gun shows suck. At least they did when I lived there years ago...unless you are in LE.

HPD doesnt take laterals so you will need to go to the academy again unless you go some other LE agency?

I think the key to island happiness would be to make decent money and live close to work. By any other means would make island life miserable. (in my opinion anyway)

    Pearl Harbor is nice.

This was 100 steps from my front door when I lived in Kailua (on the windward side)

Ko Olina lagoon on the west side is amazing for little kids.

Kaneohe bay is gorgeous. And very green. It rains alot over there.

town life can be nice too. Just dont expect much elbow room or parking options.
