I've been giving a lot of thought to my exit plan lately. I just re-enlisted for another 6 last year and probably going for 20 yr retirement. Currently have 6 years in, but I've always tried to have an exit plan in case I'm force shaped. I don't have any disciplinary actions against me, no paperwork, no UIF or control roster. About a year and a half ago, when I was in Iraq I did a lot of PSD missions and really liked the work, so now I've taken an interest in the personal security field. This past year I've been researching schools that give certifications for bodyguard, executive security, etc. Unfortunately, everything I've looked at either looks like a scam school or is just way out of my price range. I was wondering if anyone here has a certification in a protection field and from where did you attain your cert.

note: TDY is out of the question, only our General's security detail gets that benefit and spaces only open up for that once in a blue moon.

What distinguishes ESI from any other security training organization is the following: ESI TRAINS TO A STANDARD, which means that students receive an ESI Credential based on performance not for presence in a classroom. All aspects of training at ESI are evaluated by passing team and individual scheduled testing in hard and soft skills. Regardless of background, the student is asked to demonstrate comprehension of the skill-sets taught in practical exercises and instruction.
All ESI Certificate programs are approved and regulated by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Private Occupational School Board. The ESI Credential i.e. Certified Protection Specialist C.P.S. is earned by performance.
Students enroll in ESI's programs from all over the world, and outside the U.S. Secret Service or State Department, no other training organization teaches bodyguards, protection specialist or protective intelligence to such a high standard as does ESI.

Good Luck brother no matter what you choose.
