Any Texans buying Autos, now that they're legal ?

  1. I complained enough about the knife laws that I feel obligated to buy one.

  2. I have owned one in the past and liked having one but really don't care for the cost of the quality autos as opposed to the cost of assisted opening or thumb opening folders.

Don't really agree :whistling: ........ Lots and lots of selection by the quality makers $100-175 range. Nice customs get crazy expensive. Here's a CQC7 Emerson/Pro-Tech I bought to celebrate the new law $165.

I own several automatic knives, but my EDC knife is a Gerber Covert F.A.S.T knife.

A push of the thumb and flick of the wrist, (and a touch of Rem-oil) it will open faster than any of my autos.

  5. In Kansas and they just changed the laws as well, Missouri allows autos now too. Two new otf Microtechs so far.

  6. Not even considering it. I have my gun, I don't see a need for a knife other than my work knife.

Kentucky allows them and I even have one, but I don't like them. I can buy switchblades by the case, here in afghanistan, and even send them hoome of I ship the springs separately, but I just consider them a useless novelty.

I have a couple, but waved knives are much cheaper/faster to open

  9. I bought a couple of Benchmade autos but I mostly carry a Benchmade assisted opening knife.

  10. ^ This, but there is one calling my name... I'll let y'all know if it happens.

  11. I'll definitely be buying an auto as soon as I'm done with my current gun splurge. Just need to pick up my 10/22 tomorrow, attend an appleseed, order an M1 Garand from the CMP, and then I'll see about getting an auto. Most likely with my tax return.

Doubt I'd want to spend more than $100 on one, any suggestions on an auto for that price that will hold an edge and not fall apart in two months?

  12. Yea, thanks Rick Perry!
I just received and began carrying a Spyderco Embassy. It is OK, I haven't fallen in love with it. I like the blade profile, and it is very sharp out of the box. I do not like the handles, and there is a delay from the time you press the button, until the time the blade deploys. I can open many others faster, and I don't even have any blades that have the wave!
But the coolness is there for sure. I also have a Microtech Vector, and a Smith & Wesson Army, but haven't carried them yet.
