Any Roanoke Rifle and Revolver Club members here?

Discussion in 'Glockers of the Old Dominion' started by Dan, Jun 20, 2007.

  1. I was on their web site and I have a few questions about membership.

    - I have no problem with volunteering my time, but I'm active Military and stationed in Norfolk. Im not sure if I could meet all the required time for volunteering.

    - What do they mean about being sponsored? Meaning if a member knows someone?

    - After becoming a member, are you aloud guest to join you during your probationary period? and if yes is there a fee for guests?

    Thanks

I'm a former member because I moved out of the area about 2 years ago.

    1. If you're stationed in Norfolk, how do you plan to use the club?

If you are looking for somewhere closer, you might want to look into some of the clubs in the Richmond area or possibly the new club in Wakefield (formerly the Pungo Gun Club).

As to the work hours, if you don't do the work, you will be assessed an additional membership fee that will be used for the club. You can also get work hours by helping set up and run matches, so you might be surprised by how many hours you can accumulate if you plan to be involved with any of the competition.

    2. You can get a sponsor by coming to one of the board meetings or by contacting the membership coordinator.

    3. I don't remember the guest policy, but the contact persons listed on the website will be more than happy to help you with questions.

Since I'm not a current member, you shopuld double check my answers with the board.

It's a great club and I hope you decide to join.

    What LZ Said.

I am a member and living in Kentucky - I still consider RRRC Home.

I believe the have provisions for Active Miltary -

being sponsored? - basicly a member has to recommend you. -not an issue

    Not sure on the guest...

    Good group of People

I've been a member since 1970, but am listed as an inactive member. Great club, but I'm not sure of the guest rule.

  5. I bought a house in Blue Ridge and I do get time off and come home on weekends.

Thanks for the info, I will give them a call this week.

There is also a range just off 460, near Wal-mart in Bedford, which would be very close to you. I've never been there but i think they hold monthly matches.

  7. Thanks Dan, Would you know the name of the range?

It is Bedford Rifle and Revolver club, I am not a member but have shot a lot of NRA action pistol there. They are a rather small but very active club. Normally some type of match every week. PM TONYS45 for details on membership, I believe he was one of the very early members. He will know who and how to contact someone regarding membership.
    Hope this helps!

    Hello All:

Yes, I'm a member of BRRC. We allow guests to shoot in our events for a reasonable fee.

Typically, the Club has an event weekly. Cowboy action on Sunday, July 1, 2007. Next event is a two stage (moving target & barricade) centerfire and/or rimfire handgun match which will be held on Monday, July 9, 2007 which will start at 6:00PM.

SAFETY is our main objective. Therefore, if you come to our range please ask the Range Officer about the safety rules and follow them.

If anyone is interested in our Club's shooting schedule, please email me and I will send you via email an updated list.
