    hello,
I am going to be visiting GA for a weekend later this month (for the GA state idpa match) from FL. I just want to make sure i am clear on your carry laws. I have done some poking around and can anyone please tell me if all this is right?

restaurants are OK, bars are not. This sounds the same as FL, but we have a stipulation that in a restaurant with a bar you cannot be in the portion of the facility primarily devoted to alchohol service (no sitting AT the bar).

No weapons signs are meaningless, but if they ask you to leave then it is armed tresspassing if you do not. (again same as FL)

    No churches.

Castle Doctorine (assuming that applies to temp lodging / hotel as well).
    No duty to retreat.

State law preempts local or county.

that is all i've come up with so far, the link on the GA website goes to a nexis site that is not user friendly or easy to navigate.

I would like to say you are correct, but GA gun laws are way too complicated.

This website (http://www.georgiapacking.org/law.php) has a lot of useful information. Check out the 'places off limits' section and the use of 'deadly force'.
